DANSOMAN’s LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION GETS FUND FROM MTN FOUNDATION

MTN Foundation support ongoing construction of Dansoman Community Library with ICT and robotic education as it main focus.

The ongoing construction of dansoman library is gaining momentum after MTN foundation plead more funds to the project. The ICT and robotic envisioned library is aimed at educating student around the state capital of the need for such technology in the country.

The library dubbed Dansoman Community Library kick-off this month and is expected to be completed in june this year with a construction cost of 142,551.98 USD.

Meanwhile, the project constructed in Ebenezer Senior High School will not serve only the School, but the whole community as well as over 20 schools in the Ablekuma West Municipality.

According to report from local newspapers, when completed, the project will have 100-seater capacity library, ICT and robotics centres with the capacity to accommodate 20 students each.

Senior Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana, Samuel Koranteng said the project came to existence after Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, a Member of Parliament (MP) appeal to MTN Foundation for the library facility.

Koranteng also said the Board of MTN Ghana Foundation approved the project as it was aimed at promoting ICT education being one of the core focus of the foundation.

MTN Foundation has also contacted robotics experts to train students and any interested member in the community according to Koranteng.

Speaking to newsmen, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said ICT was the way to go in the current system of education. That it will help build the digital skills of the students and members of the community.
